Skin Detoxification – The Sauna Experience

The skin is one of the major organs of elimination in a person’s body. A good amount of toxic chemicals and heavy metals that have found their way inside our bodies are normally flushed out through our sweat thereby keeping us free from the harmful effects of these chemicals. This, at least, should be the ideal situation.

However, trouble may arise when a person has an inactive skin elimination system. When this happens, the toxins cannot get out through the skin and would have to be eliminated through some other routes.

In effect, the other eliminative organs have to work harder to keep up with this additional load. They have to do the extra work just to keep your body as toxin-free as possible and keep it in its top condition. This situation can lead to a toxin build-up that can damage the vital organs of the body and cause additional health complications over time.

A good way to facilitate active skin detoxification is by taking advantage of the sauna. It has been proven that repeated use of the sauna brings tons of benefits in promoting better elimination. In fact, studies show that regular sauna users may have a greater chance of enjoying better health.

Here are some simple suggestions to help you get the best out of your sauna detoxification experience:

• Locate a health-friendly sauna. It would be advisable to look for one that does not have their wood treated with toxic disinfectants. Remember that you are trying to eliminate toxins from your body. It would do you no good if you perform a sauna detoxification procedure in a toxic environment!

• Experiment with the temperature adjustments. Effective skin detoxification can be best achieved if you can find the correct temperature that will work for your body. For best results, make sure that you set the temperature high enough so that you can work up a sweat after 10 to 15 minutes but low enough to let you stay inside the sauna for about 45 to 90 minutes.

• After the sauna, take a shower and be sure to use an all-natural soap.

• Use activated charcoal or Bentonite clay to prevent any negative reactions that can result from the recirculation of the toxins into the bloodstream. You can also use an appropriate colonic to help you get rid of the toxins that have been dumped into the intestines.

• You can get the most out of this simple sauna detoxification technique is you can do it 3 times a week for 3 weeks.

Although a sauna-skin detoxification procedure can bring lots of health benefits, it is not recommended in cases where the patient is very weak or extremely obese. It is also contraindicated foe people suffering from hepatitis, jaundice and/or anemia and for those who are pregnant.

A significant amount of minerals are lost during skin detoxification. You can replace any lost minerals by following these simple suggestions:

• Eat more sea vegetables and kelp.

• If you spend more than one hour per day in the sauna, take salt and potassium tablets.

• Take chelated and colloidal mineral capsules or liquid minerals.
